Merchal is AI-Driven: How We Create Our Ads Entirely with AI

TL;DR
Our last three ads were made end-to-end with AI (idea, visuals, voice, music, and edits) using Google Vertex AI and Luma AI for image generation, and CapCut for editing, voices, and transition effects. Result: more speed, more variants without sacrificing quality nor originality.

Why we use AI for ads

  • Speed: we go from idea to video in hours, not weeks.
  • Creative range: cinematic, UGC-style, motion 2D/3D—no physical set needed.
  • Rapid iteration: multiple versions, message hooks, and CTAs tested in real time.
  • Accessibility: captions and quick localizations = bigger reach.

Our AI workflow, step by step

  1. Concepting – generate 10–15 ideas; pick 2–3 with a strong first 2–3-second hook.
  2. Script & storyboard – AI drafts 15–30s scripts; we refine the Merchal tone.
  3. Asset generation – visuals created with Vertex AI and Luma AI for consistent brand look.
  4. Voiceover & music – produced in CapCut, with natural voices and royalty-free tracks.
  5. Auto-edit – rhythm cuts, beat-sync, light transitions in CapCut.
  6. Titles & captions – on-screen text designed for sound-off viewing.
  7. Format adaption – export multiple aspect ratios per platform (see below).
  8. A/B testing – vary hook, claim, CTA, thumbnail, and length; keep only what performs.

What we’ve learned

  • Hook is everything: open with a “wow” moment or a sharp problem (“A case that doesn’t yellow?”).
  • Pacing: cuts every 1–2s, 120–150 wpm, big readable text.
  • Show proof: close-ups, before/after, drop-test simulations.
  • One clear CTA: “Design your case on Merchal.shop.”
  • Fast localization: swap voice, on-screen text, and pricing in minutes.

Platforms & formats we publish

  • YouTube
    • Shorts: 9:16 (1080×1920), 15–30s.
    • Standard video: 16:9 (1920×1080), 15–90s for deeper explainers.
  • TikTok / Instagram Reels / Facebook Reels
    • Primary: 9:16.
    • For feed posts when needed: 4:5 (1080×1350) or 1:1 (1080×1080).
  • Facebook classic feed video
    • 4:5 or 4:3, though we focus on 9:16 and 4:3 for consistency.

Practical tips

  • Keep copy in the safe area (≈10% margins top/bottom).
  • Export with burn-in captions plus an .srt variant for ads.
  • Thumbnails: first frame with a bold claim + product close-up.

Our 3 recent AI-built ad structures

  1. “Design in 30 Seconds” – timelapse customization, materials close-ups, CTA.
  2. “Drop Test” – animated protection demo; callouts for raised edges, glossy/matte finish.
  3. “Gift Ready” – UGC-style unboxing, sticker pack, seasonal collections CTA.

Tools we used (and why)

  • Google Vertex AI – fast, brand-consistent image generation and variations.
  • Luma AI – high-fidelity visuals and dynamic scenes to elevate product shots.
  • CapCut – rapid editing, natural-sounding voices, captions, and smooth transitions.
